Avios Value Calculator

Points are only worth what they save you. Enter the cash price of a flight, the points it would cost, and the taxes and fees you'd still pay — and we'll show you the value per point, so you only redeem when it's genuinely a good deal.

This tool compares figures you enter; it doesn't fetch live fares, award charts or point balances. Programmes, earning rates, surcharges and reward availability change often, so treat the result as a guide to this redemption, not a fixed valuation. This is general information, not financial advice.

How to read the result

The headline number is how much value each point delivers on this specific booking, in pence per point. Compare it to your own benchmark — many frequent travellers treat somewhere around 1p per point as a rough "is this worth it?" line, but the right number is personal: it depends on how easily you earn points and what else you could spend them on.

  • Subtract the taxes and fees. A reward flight that still costs a lot in cash surcharges delivers less real value — this is the single biggest thing people overlook.
  • Compare like with like. Use the cash price for the same cabin and dates you'd actually fly, not the cheapest fare on a different day.
  • Think about opportunity cost. A "fair" redemption today might be a poor one if those points could unlock a much higher-value reward later.
